Knock Knees

Don’t think I won’t remember the first I heard that scream
Your demons buried me when it took years to
Crawl back out from that grave you covered in contempt
And carried you away and interrupted
Listening, compassion, availability
Oh but you’re so kind your friends would think that it’s funny
And don’t forget I’m the worst at communicating things
So sorry to complain, not interested in
Hearing every opinion, invisibly contained
Not lucky after all, some day you’ll see
That laughing at disorders proves you can be cruel
Your veins explode in anger, but that was my fault too
And we’ll draw our own conclusions
So there’s still nothing to say
But we could talk it out, talk about it all
But big words can’t save a fated crew on a doomed ship
So terrified and bare, I followed you
But only to be trapped below, drowning like the rest
The days that I survived weren’t lonesome
But nothing could compare to the sorrow you possessed
And only you would love knock knees that don’t exist
Puzzling never-ending maze

What can I condensate?
I swear it’s crawling in my bloodstream and all around me
And you can condescend
I know there’s more than just believing, I know I’m seeing
What is the point of this?
They must be weaponizing skyways, in plasma status
You can contradict
I’m terrorized, it’s not surprising everyone’s lying
Breath while you still can - is there enough
Evidence to prove there can’t be trust
And as we contemplate
The many reasons for our horror, they’re getting closer
Our fragile atmosphere
Of once-blue skies it wheezing havoc, delusions flying
Breath while you still can - is there enough
Evidence to prove there can’t be trust
Vapor can’t sustain without a spec
Of some particulate (it can’t be dust)
Airways traced like grids on paper
Webs that stain the ground
They’re blowing westerly like vagrant shadows
Dizzying and made to swallow
Lines that cross the sky in patterns
Ones that linger on
They are intoxicating me with foam
And needles haunt me as they absorb
Filling heads with deadly metals
Bury me in barium
It looks so innocent it can’t be
Killing us - nothing to dread
Subliminal images make it
Easier to understand
Why instead of chasing butterflies
We’re gasping, watching X’s cross the sky

I thought that you would never give up on this town and leave
But you never sounded better since you started your own scene
Give them a chance, it’s not romance, it’s ponies
They grow so fast, they’re made of glass and memories
Once the mermaid made her sweater, she sank to the bottom like a sheep
But heavy and itchy were much better than clamshell cups could ever be
Give them a chance, it’s not romance, it’s ponies
They’re blue and pink, they’re clogging up my memories
It’s the thing you never say, lying on the couch all day
A secret’s not a lie, we just don’t want you to die
Give them a chance, it’s not romance, it’s ponies
They’re made of glass, they’re clogging up my memory

You’ve gone and left it all behind
A trial rocket falls above the sky
Your eyes can’t see, your ears don’t hear
Any moment you might disappear
And now I cannot prove you exist
Don’t know where you’ll go but it can’t be here
There’s no tomorrow, no today
Something has taken that away
Your ears can’t see, your eyes don’t hear
In passing moments, you will disappear
Somebody, something made a mistake
Are you alive, or just not awake?
I’m so sure something will come to get me
There’s no X-20, no room 15
No one was really here with me
Let me suffer in loneliness all by myself
You’ve gone and left it all behind
It’s like way out above the sky
Wish I could say “nothing to fear
Don’t worry, you won’t disappear”
And this is all just some kind of gag
You’re no longer part of the memory of man
You’re losing who you are, I’m losing who you are, aren’t we?
Fantastically conceived, a terrifying dream - don’t leave
Crazy as it seems, illusions, memories, who needs you?
Return from the unknown, the outside world is wrong - be here
When did you leave, who have you been?

I Can Read
05:15
|

I can read - I can read your memoir
Then I’ll know everything - everything you want me to know
I can read - I can read your novel
And all the things I don’t know will seem like a revelation
I can read - I can read your diary
As though I were the one - the person it was written for
I can see - it could take a year
To dig out your mysteries - unearth all the artifacts
I can read the width of the galaxy
I can read rotational velocity
I can read the movement of the stars
I can read the spin of the quark
I can read the mass of a gluon
I can read your thoughts when you’re alone
I can dream - it’s not realistic
Swinging from beam to beam - it’s nothing like it seems
I can read
